Financial Aid Information:
The first step in beginning financial aid is filling out the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). You may apply for your PIN that will allow you to access and correct your FAFSA later at www.pin.ed.gov This may be done at any time before January. The FAFSA requires parents' income tax return for the year prior to the academic year for which you are applying. Therefore, you cannot complete the FAFSA until your parents' income tax return is finished. FAFSA's free website is www.fafsa.ed.gov YOU SHOULD NEVER HAVE TO PAY FOR COMPLETING THIS FORM. If you are asked to pay, you are on the wrong site.
Educational Opportunity Center in Alton provides FREE help in completing your FAFSA. Stop by Guidance for more information.
